A Family Tradition
Jim Kaber started teaching Traffic Safety Education in 1959. Jim led the Drivers Education Program at Mark Morris High School for 28 years. In 1985, Jim started Cowlitz Driving School and it has been growing ever since.
In Jim Kaber's 48 years of instruction, he taught more than 18,000 students how to drive and also trained many driving instructors in his proven defensive driving techniques. Cowlitz Driving School is proud to have to the most experienced driving instructors teaching our students.
Shawn Kaber joined Cowlitz Driving School in 2001 after 10 years of his father encouraging him to take over the driving school so Jim could retire. Shawn officially took over in 2002.
Our goal at Cowlitz Driving School is to provide a quality driver's education school teaching legal and safe defensive driving techniques. During Shawn's tenure as owner, Cowlitz Driving School has included Approved Washington Driver License Testing.
